Daily Wind Statistics from Singapore
If you don't see the wind graph above, then click HERE to see it.
Wind Observations
The wind statistics displayed on this site originates from a
weather station near Changi Airport (click here to see the station location on google
map).
The weather station is located on the west side of the
airport, and is well exposed to winds from North to South-West, while wind from
the West to North-West is somewhat hindered by “Changi Heights”.
The
weather station is publishing observations on a half-hourly basis. However, a
delay of 5-10 minutes is normal before the information becomes available on this
site.
Daily Wind Statistics
The daily wind statistics
displays the half-hourly readings in knots. A gray box indicates that no reading
is available.
Browser Compatibility
The graphics on the wind statistics pages are implemented using
both VML and SVG. VML (Vector Markup Language) is only supported by Internet
Explorer (IE), but SVG (Scalable Vector Graphics) is supported by many browser
through installation of plugin. If you are using other browsers than IE, you may
have to download and install the SVG plugin. I have tested the SVG compatible
pages using Adobes SVG plugin on Mozilla, Firefox and Opera.
